Signed with our Apple Developer ID. macOS needs one extra confirmation the first time you open it — the steps appear here once your download starts.

Opening it the first time

  1. Open the downloaded Hamilton_Auto_FT8_1.0.89.dmg and drag Hamilton Auto FT8 into your Applications folder.
  2. Open it from Applications. macOS will say it “cannot verify” the app and refuse the first time. That is expected — close the message.
  3. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section. You will see a line about Hamilton Auto FT8 being blocked. Click Open Anyway.
  4. Confirm with your password or Touch ID, then click Open. That is the last time you will see it — every launch after this one is normal.
  5. Hamilton needs permission to press the Log QSO button for you. When it asks, grant Accessibility access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Why the extra step: this build is signed with our Apple Developer ID but has not yet been through Apple’s notarization service, so macOS asks you to confirm once by hand. Nothing else about it differs from the Windows release. Trouble? Write to support@autoft8.com and tell us what the screen said.

Updating from an older version? Just download and install over it — your filters, settings, and operator profile all stay exactly as they were.
